Molly
Shannon Lewis
2008
Junior Novice Division
Molly
is an outgoing, energetic and happy-go-lucky girl. She attends Taylor Primary
School and is a good student. Molly likes many sports, and racing is no
exception. However, we have found that she gets bored easily watching, and
would rather be in the mix competing. So, here we are :
)
Handler
/ Mechanic: Dad (Craig Lewis)
Public
Affairs Manager: Mom (Jen Lewis)
Pit
Crew and Finance Manager: Sister (Maggie Lewis 4)
Favorite
Number: 67 ( She picked it because she is 6 years old and likes Clint Bowyer so
she added the 7... we didn't realize Jeff Gordon used it racing Quarter Midgets
starting out... hope that is a good omen! )
Highlights
(so far): We started a little under the gun in the 2008 ISCS. However, she pulled
off a pole run in her third qualifying attempt at the next club race. Molly
retired "Lucille" the first motor (she named them) and is very happy with the
results that we are seeing from "Bubba". She says she is ready to start moving forward
with her new found confidence and power plant. She is still working the line,
but has a good grasp of it thanks to the lessons from Starla
and Melvin. Molly says thanks to everyone who is bringing her and Dad up to
speed so quickly in their new found passion.
Other
Interests: Gymnastics and Cheerleading (gotta learn
how to do those flips if you want to steal the Carl Edwards finishing move).
Favorite
People: Danica Patrick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Clint
Bowyer... Oh yeah! and Hanna Montana
Sponsors
to Date: Chuck's Auto Sales and TK Graphics (Thank you much!).
What
we like about racing: Molly likes the new friends she has gained and the spirit
of competition and fair play. Mom and Dad like that too... but, we also like the
new level of two-way communication and concentration we have all acquired. We
like the confidence she is gaining, knowing that once the flag drops it is up
to her to get all she can out of her equipment.
Molly's
favorite racing phrases: You gotta get in there low
and then out to the wall! You gotta hold it to the
floor all the way around!!! Smooottthhh!!! (She
thinks Dad is a little off his rocker... He sounds like a broken record LOL!)
